Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) is the busiest airport in South Asia and serves as the primary civilian aviation hub for the National Capital Region of India. The airport expansion to include the new Terminal 3 (T3) building also makes that terminal the third largest in the world and promoted IGIA to the world’s fifth-largest in terms of capacity. All international and full service domestic carriers shifted their operations to the new terminal, serving 34 million passengers a year.
Acoustic Dimensions served as acoustics consultant to Larsen & Toubro for the Indira Gandhi International Airport. AD conducted a study of the sound impact on the Terminal 3 building based on aircraft noise, reviewed the main mechanical room for noise and vibration control, and provided input on sound isolation and noise control for various portions of the facility. The project included the terminal building, atrium and hotel with meeting and conference rooms.
