Clear Creek Community Church (CCCC) is a growing church with a purpose and a vision for the future. With their upbeat casual atmosphere, they gear their services to reach seeking people in the Bay Area of Houston, TX. When it came time to build a new facility, they wanted an auditorium designed with this purpose and vision in mind.
Although CCCC’s new worship center seats 1, 000 and has a large balcony, the facility was designed with the possibility for expansion in the future. Both the balcony and main floor can be extended to create a seating space of 2,500.
The acoustics contribute to the feeling of togetherness in the room. AD designed reflective surfaces in the ceiling so that reverberant energy reflects back into the congregation. The result is a sense of community when people are singing and clapping.
To accommodate their contemporary worship music, we specified a great deal of absorptive material on the back walls and toward the back of the ceiling. A left/center/right system was designed to support the church’s music program. By utilizing loudspeakers with strong pattern control, music sounds immediate, clear and alive, without undesirable reflections into the seating area.
A unique room design feature of CCCC is the mechanical mezzanine that is located directly beside the stage. Because of the large amount of noise that the machines in the mezzanine produce, this room is normally housed in a separate building. The mechanical mezzanine in CCCC is built on a isolated slab floor to help prevent noise from reaching the worship center.
