First Baptist Church of Jacksonville
Like many ministries, FBC Jacksonville had a worship facility that fit perfectly when it opened twenty years ago. But over the years, the ministry grew and changed. Technology changed. And though the ministry kept up with modifications, there began to be a disconnect with how well the room supported what was happening inside of it.
FBC Jacksonville worked with the architects at CDH Partners, and consultants at Acoustic Dimensions to explore what was possible within their space, focusing on connecting the room to the ministry and integrating technology.
Through digital design, the ministry was able to “see” what was possible and communicate that to their congregation. AD and CDH worked together to develop new concepts for the main worship center, Lindsay Hall, and the chapel. AD provided seating and sightline concepts, platform and choir redesign, acoustic recommendations, and integration of technology (audio, video and lighting design) for the spaces. AD’s 3-D modeling, renderings and animations were used to explain the proposed modifications to the room designs, platform designs and integration of new large screen video display systems.
The renderings also communicated alternate configurations of Lindsay Hall to serve different ministry needs; hence, maximizing facility usage. In the renovation of the chapel, First Baptist Church Jacksonville had opportunities to integrate technology that wasn’t available when the chapel was initially built.
