Fielder Road is a vibrant congregation located in the center of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Its tremendous growth over recent years has strained its facilities and property.
Though relocation was an option, it didn’t match the church’s vision to minister to its community. They worked with Beck Architecture to develop their existing campus in a way that would allow them to stay where they were and developed the 3,500 seat Metrocenter which is shared with the community.
The Metrocenter is designed to serve the needs of contemporary and traditional worship and to host concerts and other community events. They needed a great deal of flexibility in the platform. There is a thrust stage and a proscenium with orchestra pit and full curtaining systems—main and mid stage travelers. The balcony was constructed with the intent that it will be finished out in the future to provide additional seating capacity.
The theatrical lighting system is designed to support broadcast. A cloud ceiling conceals the catwalks. Acoustic Dimensions designed the seating layout and incorporated camera positions to be as minimally intrusive as possible.
The audio system is an LCR configuration with digital mixing consoles to provide a high level of support for both music and speech.
