Theatrical Lighting
Friendship West had a vision for not only a new worship center but an entire campus that would focus on the communities needs.
The first stage in this goal was the main sanctuary which seats 4,220 with 1,560 of those seats in the balcony. Music at Friendship West is high energy gospel. The loudspeaker system is an alternating left right configuration with subwoofers and front fills housed under the platform. Both the front of house and monitor mix consoles are digital. Front projection was a must in this room because of structural limitations of an original architectural design (prior to Corgan joining the design team). To create a crisp image on the screen in this size room, top of the line projectors were required. The lighting system was designed so that congregational lighting could be added in the future for expanding the television broadcast ministry.Services are streamed live via the web. AD provided production accommodations and camera integration into the space. Their existing video production equipment was integrated into the design with infrastructure planned so that the equipment can be easily upgraded in the future.
There are acoustics treatments on the balcony and side walls. Some of the acoustic elements were value engineered from the design and may be added later.
