Gardendale’s First Baptist new worship center is Phase 1 of a three-phase building plan and includes the 2,700 seat worship center that is designed for future expansion. Worship and evangelism are key at Gardendale’s FBC, so the acoustics were designed to provide a controlled atmosphere for preaching, as well as a room that would be responsive to music and congregational worhsip. Services are broadcast locally to the community, so the audio, video, and lighting systems were designed to accommodate this functionality. The lighting design includes both platform and audience lighting in order to capture images of the congregation. The upgrades included re-using a sizeable amount of existing equipment in order to maximize the available funds. Located downstairs, the audio and video production suite contains control rooms, offices, storage, and a living room like area to provide a space that feels like home to the large group of volunteers that operate the technical systems.
Acoustic Dimensions scope of work included acoustics, audio, video, theatrical lighting, and architectural lighting design.
